Yamaha CX-800U Stereo Control Preamplifier

Here we have a rare Yamaha CX-800u Preamp for sale.  Included is a vintage Yamaha VRO9390 remote. While it is not the exact remote for this preamp, it is from the same era, and it does control most of the necessary functions including:

-Input controls for Phono, CD, Tuner, and Tape

-Volume up and down

-On/Off 

The unit came to us in working condition, aside from the phono section. We did a thorough check on the internals, cleaned all pots and switches, and then treated with Deoxit F5 and D5 respectively. We serviced the phono section of the preamp and replaced faulty resistors and capacitors as needed. We then bench tested the unit where it performed very well. The unit has excellent line stage inputs, and a very capable phono section, with both Moving Magnet, and Moving Coil settings, which are located on the front panel. There are three setting for MM, and three settings for MC cartridges. We were very impressed with the build quality and parts used in this preamp.

The preamp is in good physical condition, with some scuffs/scratches that can be seen in many photos included in the listing.
