VPI HW-17 Semi Automatic Record Cleaner Serviced

For your consideration, we have a fully serviced VPI HW17 Semi Automatic Record Cleaner. This is our favorite VPI record cleaner, and we even have one in house that we refuse to sell. This unit arrived to us from its original owner, and while it was in excellent cosmetic condition, with only a few nicks here and there, it did need servicing. We did the following to the unit:

• We removed and serviced the motor with a cleaning and oiling.
• Opened up the gear case, removed gears, cleaned case and gears, and repacked with grease.
• Removed, cleaned and lubed the cleaning brush shaft. The brush now rotates into and out of cleaning position smoothly.
• Removed and serviced the cleaning fluid water pump. Motor now spins freely. 
• Removed and cleaned the stainless steel cleaning fluid tank.
• Flushed and cleaned stainless steel waste water tank.
• Replaced waste hose and clamp, cleaning tank to pump hose, and pump hose to cleaning brush hose and clamp. 

With all the work done, the unit functions as new. The motor is strong and runs like it did when it was originally purchased. As stated, we have one of these in our workshop, and the main two reasons we are such fans of this unit is the automatic cleaner dispenser, and more importantly the Bi-Directional motor. Once you use it, you won't want to use a cleaner without the Bi-Directional feature.

We don't have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit, and use water activated, fiber reinforced tape on all seams.
