For your consideration we have a fine example of the Pioneer SA-9500 II Integrated amp. Physically the unit is in very good condition. The faceplate has a mark on the bottom right side edge, and the top shroud has some blemishes as seen in the photos. With that being said, the unit presents itself extremely well.

Operationally, the unit is in perfect working order, and it was completely gone through. Before turning the unit on, we inspected inside for signs of wear to components as a result of heat or physical damage. We checked for leaking or bulging capacitors, as well as resistors that might have been running hot and show signs of damage. The unit showed no signs of damage and was very clean on the inside. We then cleaned all pots and switches, and then treated them with Deoxit F5 and D5 respectively. We powered up the unit using a dim bulb and a variac to make sure there were no shorts. We then switched to full street power and let the unit warm up for 20 minutes.  We then checked and adjusted the DC offset, and set the bias according to Pioneer's specifications. We then hooked the unit up to a Sencore PA81 Stereo Stereo Power Amplifier Analyzer acting as a dummy load and Oscilloscope interface. Using an audio generator, we ran a 1k signal through the amps input, slowly increasing the amplitude while monitoring the output on our oscilloscope for signs of noise, clipping, distortion, or improper channel balance. Both channels tested clean on the scope.  The amp is conservatively rated at 80 watts per channel, and   produced a clean signal at 80 watts per channel, and it did not clip until it reached 108 watts per channel.

Following these tests we played music through the amp on our bench, where it performed flawlessly. We then ran the unit in one of our house systems for a full day, and then continued to use it for about a week. We tested all inputs, including both phono stages where it again, performed as it should.

The amp comes with the original owners manual and original brochure as pictured.

Shipping is included to the lower 48 in the purchase price. The receiver will be shipped in an oversized box with polystyrene foam used on all sides of the unit. Great care will be put into packing this unit.  We put a lot of work into these vintage units, and we are passionate about the gear that we sell. We do all that we can to make sure that they ship safely to their new owner.
