Here we have a great example of the Pioneer CT-F950. We love this era of Cassette decks, just like all the great silver faced gear from this era. Produced from 1979 to 1980 this deck is in very good physical condition. There are some scuffs and scrapes on the rear top sides of the cabinet and some other marks on the sides. On the faceplate there is a scrape on the top right side of the cassette housing faceplate. The top edge of the units faceplate has some marks as well as a small nick on the bottom left corner of the faceplate. With all this being said, the unit is in beautiful shape and presents itself extremely well.

Mechanically we completely went through the unit and serviced it. We replaced all the belts, changed the idler tire, cleaned and oiled the capstans, reconditioned the pinch rollers, cleaned all the pulleys, used deoxit on all pots and switches, demagnetized the heads, and checked and set the tape speed. We then ran the unit in our house system for a few days where it performed as it should. It's a great looking and performing unit.

We don't have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, polystyrene, and or instapak when boxing up our gear for shipping.

From CassetteDeckOrg:

The main features of the Pioneer CT-F950 are: 3 heads and off-tape monitoring, digital tape counter with 3 digits and memory stop, manual tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome, ferro-chrome and metal tapes, dual capstan transport.

Typical front loading cassette deck with the cassette compartment located on the left side of the deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed directly over the head block. Additionally the heads can be easily accessed for cleaning.

Level meters used on the CT-F950 are generic digital peak reading meters with peak hold for easy adjustment of optimum recording level. Full-logic transport controls used on the CT-F950 let it respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection.

The Dolby-B system reduces tape hiss on tapes recorded on the CT-F950 by as much as 10 dB at the highest frequencies.

To make live recordings this deck has 2 microphone inputs to connect microphones with a jack connector. For undisturbed listening a jack connector for a pair of stereo headphones is supplied. Connection to other audio components for playback can be achieved by a RCA cable and recording from a source by a RCA cable.
