Mcintosh MC2105 Amplifier Serviced w/New Factory Box

For your consideration, we have the classic Mcintosh MC 2105 Power Amplifier for sale. The unit is in very good physical condition, and in perfect working order. Physically, the glass is in very good condition with only a few small bubbles, and bubbling  around the headphone jack, which is common.  The knobs show some blemishes, but overall are in very good condition. The trim pieces have some scratches as can be seen in the photos. The top edge and bottom edge of the faceplate trim have scratches on them as seen in the pictures. The sides, and top panels of the amp have some scratches and blemishes as well, but no dents. The back of the amp has some pitting, with some rust around the fuse holder, which is typical on these units. Overall it's a very good looking piece. The unit has been fully serviced. All pots and switches were cleaned, and then treated with Deoxit F5 and D5 respectively. We replaced the panel bulbs with LED, and used incandescent for the meter bulbs. (Upon request, we can switch out the incandescent meter bulbs for LED).

We serviced and updated the driver boards and did some  preventative maintenance on the input board. The meters were calibrated to factory specifications. 

 In order to test the output and check to see the amp was in proper working order, we hooked it up to our Sencore PA81 Stereo Stereo Power Amplifier Analyzer acting as a dummy load and Oscilloscope interface. Using an audio generator, we ran a 1k signal through the amps input, slowly increasing the amplitude while monitoring the output on our oscilloscope for signs of noise, clipping, distortion, or improper channel balance. It checked out perfectly, and  the amp easily produced a clean 105 watts per channel on our bench.  Following the work performed on the unit, it spent time on our bench, and then in our house system for about a week running daily for 8 hours a day. It performed flawlessly.
