    Marantz 7T Preamplifier

    Regular price $1,695.00

For your consideration we have a vintage Marantz 7T preamplifier for sale. We acquired this unit from the original owner, along with his two Mcintosh MC60's. The preamp is all original, and in perfect working order. When we picked up the unit, the owner had the system running, and while working, it needed to have all the potentiometers and switches cleaned and treated, which we did first off once we got it back to our shop. It was nice to see that the unit was pristine on the inside, and could tell that it had not been opened since the day it left the factory, and that it had been in constant use since it was originally purchased.  After the cleaning, we checked the unit out on our bench, using our Sencore PA81, while feeding a 1k sine wave through the preamp and monitoring the signal on our oscilloscope. Volume control, all tone controls, and filters checked out. We then tested all inputs, including the two phono inputs which also all were in proper working order.

We ran the 7T in our house system for about two weeks, and really enjoyed it. The phono section also proved to be quite impressive. The unit has the same look as the original Marantz Model 7 (The tube version), but at a fraction of the cost, is a great option at a more affordable price.

When we pulled off the faceplate, we saw that it was stamped January 29th, 1966, so while it is not perfect, it looks very good for being 58 years old. There are some marks and blemishes, but it still looks very nice. On the body of the unit, there were several chips in the original paint, so we stripped and resprayed the top, bottom, and sides of the cabinet. There are no dents or dings, and the preamp presents itself very well. Please see the many pictures in the listing for further details.

We don't have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit, and use water activated, fiber reinforced tape on all seams.
