For your consideration, we have a fine example of B&K Components ST-202+ Power Amplifier with the red and blue lettering.
The amp came to us in good working order, but we still serviced the unit. On our bench, we opened the amp where it passed our visual inspection. The Capacitors looked good with no bulging or signs of leakage. Resistors showed no signs of cracking or overheating, and the transistors showed no signs of damage. We lifted the main board, tested and found the main capacitors to be up to spec. On the main board, we replaced all the electrolytic capacitors for good measure.
Next, we hooked up an 8 ohm dummy load to the amp, ran an input signal of 100mV @20Khz, and set the bias to factory spec of 200mA on each channel. This amp does not have pots to adjust the DC output. Spec is 0 Volt DC + or - 5 Volt DC. The right channel tested at only .3 Millivolt DC, and the left channel tested at .5 Millivolt DC.
We tested the amp using our Sencore PA81 amplifier analyzer. We ran a 1k sine wave into the amp, and on our scope each channel showed a clean sine wave. The amp tested clean at 200 Watts per channel. With the amp testing as it should, we then ran the unit in our bench for a few days, and then in our house system for about a week. It's a great sounding, amp with plenty of power. Physically, the unit is in good condition, presents itself very well, and has no dents or deep scratches. It does have some marks and blemishes on the front panel. The top has several scratches, and the sides and bottom have some light blemishes. The back panel is in good shape, including the RCA, and speaker. jacks. We don't have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit, and use water activated, fiber reinforced tape on all seams.
