AURATONE 5C MIXING SPEAKERS VINTAGE For Parts

    Regular price $195.00

From a long closed recording studio in Midtown Manhattan, we have a pair of vintage all original early version Auratone 5C mixing monitors with original tweed grill cloth and Auratone logos. Having no experience with cube mixing speakers, we were astounded at how good they sounded. What was supposed to be a 5 minute testing of the speakers ended up lasting two days on our bench. The bass is tight on these sealed boxes and of course the midrange does not disappoint on these monitors. They are a lot of fun to listen to. One of the cabinets is in very good physical condition considering its age with some scuffs and edge wear as pictured. The other speaker is in fair condition with the same blemishes, and  It appears it must have been dropped on the bottom right edge at some point and there is a crack in the veneer on the bottom of the speaker, as well as a crack in the trim on the same bottom right corner.  It appears that the grills on these are not removable, and the drivers can only be accessed by removing the grill cloth. After some time listening we noticed that the speaker that had been dropped resonates at certain low frequencies. I don't know if it is the cabinet or the surround on the driver itself. For this reason, the speakers are being sold for Parts/Repair. The speakers show 8.0 and 8.2 ohms on our meter.

    Thanks for looking
