    Acurus A125X5 Five Channel Amplifier

    Regular price $550.00

For your consideration, we have an Acurus A125X5 Five Channel Amplifier. The amp is in perfect working order and in good physical condition. We took this unit in on a trade, and the customer stated that the unit stopped working, and he could not remove the main fuse. (Hence the markings from a screwdriver on the fuse holder) The fuse holder simply clips in and out. Prior to powering up the amp, we inspected the inside, and saw no signs of bulging caps, and no signs of heat stress to any resistors, transistors, etc. We included several picture of the inside of the amp in the listing. The unit is of very high build quality.

We replaced the blown main fuse, and then powered up the amp on our bench.  In order to test the output and check to see the amp was in proper working order, we hooked it up to our Sencore PA81 Stereo Stereo Power Amplifier Analyzer acting as a dummy load. Using an audio generator, we ran a 1k signal through the amps input, slowly increasing the amplitude while monitoring the output on our oscilloscope for signs of noise, clipping, distortion, or improper channel balance. Once we saw the amp was in working condition, we adjusted the bias for all five channels, and then ran the unit on our setup where it tested clean at over 125 watts per channel with an 8 ohm load. Finally, we ran the unit in for 8 hours on each channel through one of our house system, where it performed flawlessly.

Physically there are some small marks/blemishes on the faceplate, as well as several scratches around the fuse holder, and a chip in the fuse holder. However, the fuse holder is intact, and fully functional.  There are small blemishes on the top, bottom, and sides of the unit, but the amp presents itself very well, and has no dents or deep scratches. See the photos in the listing for further details.

We don't have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, several inches of polyethylene foam on all sides of the unit, and use water activated, fiber reinforced tape on all seams.
