For sale, we have a one owner Audio Research SP16L Tube Line Stage Preamplifier. The preamp was cleaned and fully tested, and it is in perfect working order. The preamp uses 12AX7 tubes and comes installed with 3 JJ ECC83S/12AX7's. They were checked on our Amplitrex AT1000, and all three tested strong. A gorgeous sounding tube preamp with the convenience of having a remote control, we really enjoyed having it in our shop. We ran it for about a week in one of our house systems.
The SP16 is completely single-ended with four sets of inputs (CD, Tuner, Video and Aux) plus a Processor pass-through. There are two sets of main outputs for flexibility, plus a Tape out. The SP16 has a 12-volt trigger to turn on power amplifiers or other equipment, and full remote control of all functions including power, input selection, stereo/mono, volume, and muting.
Physically the unit is in very good condition, with only some minor blemishes. There is a light mark on the top of the unit, and some light blemishes on the bottom. There are no dings, dents, or scratches, and really is minty unit. The remote control is in good condition and perfect working order. It was a bit "tacky" from the rubberized factory coating failing due to age. We removed the coating and the remote looks and feels much better.
The SP16L comes with the original owners manual, original remote control, power cable, and the original Audio Research Double box.
