For sale we have a beautiful example of a Sansui AU-517 Integrated Amplifier. The unit and a full stack of this Sansui series units were obtained from the original owner who served in the armed forces in Japan. The units were purchased in Japan and brought back to the States. The previous owner had the unit recapped about 6 years ago. Upon our servicing of the unit we confirmed that it was recapped using Nichicon capacitors. The amp has been detailed and completely gone through. DeOxit has been used on all pots and switches. We ran the unit in our listening room for a week where it performed flawlessly. Physically there are some fine scratches on the top left corner of the unit, and a few more in the bottom-center of the faceplate, which can be seen pictured below. With that being said, the unit is still a beautiful example.Included in the sale are the original Sansui rack handles that are in very good condition and are sought after. They can be removed if desired.
We don't have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. We spare no expense and use heavy duty boxes, polystyrene, and or instapak when boxing up our gear for shipping.
