The unit is in perfect working order. Physically the unit has some fading/bleaching on the anodized aluminum cover, and there are some small blemishes, nicks and scratches on the unit and power supply. There are no dents, dings or deep scratches on the unit, and the faceplate is in very good condition. The unit as a whole presents itself very well. Please refer to the many pictures in the listing for further details.

The unit came to us from an old audiophile and it had not been used for some time. Under the hood, the unit was very clean, with no signs of bulging capacitors or heat stressed resistors. Mil spec parts are used in these preamps, and the boards themselves are beautifully made. The build quality on the unit is exceptional. We first tested the tubes, of which all but one were still useable. We retubed the phono section with a set of Tungsol 6DJ8 tubes made in Hungary, and we installed RAM Sovtek 6922' in the linestage section. (RAM tubes are from Roger A. Modjeski). We went through a few sets of tubes to find ones that were quiet, and we are very pleased with the results.

This is a highly regarded and well reviewed preamp and it sounds wonderful.

We don't have the original box for this unit, but we take packaging and shipping seriously. Our boxes meet or exceed OEM packaging. We spare no expense, use heavy duty boxes, and polyethylene foam when boxing up our gear for transit.

Specifications:

Phono section gain: 28dB at 1kHz (MM), 27dB (MC).
