For your consideration we have a beautiful example of a Marantz Model 2240 Stereophonic Receiver. Physically the unit is in very good condition, especially considering its age. The noticeable blemishes are on the bottom left and top left corners of the faceplate, that you can see in the pictures provided. The unit has been thoroughly gone over on our bench. Any suspect capacitors on the power supply board were replaced. All line level inputs have been tested and are all in good working condition. The Phono section had one channel not working when we acquired it. We recapped the phono board, replaced and upgraded the faulty transistors, replaced the tantalum caps with metal film caps, and replaced the recommended diode with two in series. A full AM and FM tuner alignment was also performed on the receiver, using our Senco SG80 AM/FM Stereo analyzer. The DC offset and Bias have been set to factory spec. All bulbs have been converted to LED including the tuner pointer. New vellum was installed behind the tuning plate. All the pots and switches have been cleaned with DeoxIt F5 and D5 respectively. Just a gorgeous looking, great sounding receiver that is ready for its next owner. See attached pictures for more information.
